Diary of a First Time Author - Episode #1

Writing my book 'Driven To Achieve' has been such joy!

Both rewarding and fulfilling, I've achieved a long held ambition of getting my stories down into print. It’s not every day you sit down to reflect on over three decades of business and personal growth, and it's been a fantastic project to work on. I'm so thrilled to be sharing it with you finally.

As I poured my thoughts onto the page, revisiting both the highs and lows that shaped my path, I discovered a new energy for the achievements I had accomplished. The act of writing itself was almost cathartic, helping me make sense of everything I’ve experienced, learned, and overcome.

I started in my notebook, then transferred it to a Word document, but at the start of 2025 I was struggling with the formatting and kept jumping around, it was doing my little head in! 

Once I discovered Bookmagic.ai everything became very easy.  This software has been a key element in actually completing the manuscript and the speed at which I've done it. Logging on each time was a pleasure and I was excited to write the next chapter.

Now, I know some of you might be put off by the mention of AI, but let me assure you, the words are entirely mine. What it does do though is assist in structuring your content, organising your thoughts, and keeping an eye on essential details like word counts and pacing. It doesn’t write the book for you, but it offers a set of tools that makes the writing process more seamless and efficient.

It's not easy to put thirty-two years of experience into a book, and keeping that content focused and relevant was crucial. The platform provided just the right amount of guidance to help me stay organised while maintaining my voice throughout.

I highly recommend writing your story down, especially if you’re someone who wants to share your knowledge and experiences but feels overwhelmed by the sheer volume of content or the organisation required. 

Ultimately, this book has been a reflection of my journey, and the process of writing it has only deepened my appreciation for everything I’ve learned over the years. I don't think it will be my last!
